Warburton HighwayOn the other side of the Yarra River, along the Warburton Highway, you will find the villages of Wandin and Seville, essentially fruit, berry, flower and bulb growing areas along with some magnificent boutique wineries and restaurants……. a particularly pretty part of the world.
Here you can also find a superb Lavender Farm and a selection of farmgate produce, historic Upper Yarra Museum, the French oriented Mont de Lancey Historical Homestead and a host of various comfortable accommodation venues.
This Highway also takes us through Launching Place and Yarra Junction to the scenic village of Warburton. This is the best place to see the origins of the Yarra River in all of its pure, cascading glory and the best vantage point is from the historic swing bridge.
Warburton is a village ringed by mountains and known for its wide range of hand made arts and crafts and cosy restaurants. One of its icons is the spectacular Water Wheel situated at the entrance to the Visitor Information Centre.
You have now reached one of the upper reaches of The Yarra Valley where you could continue on to Mt Donna Buang and the Upper Yarra Reservoir.
