Yarra Valley Regional Tourism Association
The Association began life in the early 1920’s as the Healesville Tourism and Progress Association. In 1986 recognising the need to look beyond the local Healesville area, the organisation became the Yarra Valley Regional Tourism Association.
The public face of the association, The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) established in 1994 is now an accredited Level 2 Centre and the first ‘Map and Visitor Guide’ was produced in 1995.
The YVRTA Inc is unique. It has a broad geographic coverage. The Association has members in all sectors of the tourism industry. The accommodation sector accounts for 45% of total membership and wineries represent 17%. Other relatively large sectors are attractions, restaurants/cafes, tour operators, trade and retail these each account for approximately 7% of membership.
To ensure the sustainable growth in tourism in the Yarra Valley the Association strives to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all the major organisations currently promoting the Yarra Valley.
