Considered the gateway to the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges region, Lilydale and its surrounds are easily accessible via train from Melbourne and just under an hour’s drive from the city.

Weekend visitors and locals alike come to jump on the iconic Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail that journeys through the Yarra Valley between the Dandenong Ranges and the Great Dividing Ranges. The 38km recreation trail is a favourite of walkers, cyclists and horse riders who follow the path of the historical railway line established to service the agriculture industry in the 1900's.

The region is also an ideal spot to enjoy some of the new urban cafes and restaurants plus indulging in a bit of retail therapy.
