Located in a former Parks Victoria property, Lockton Country House is nestled in an old Edna Walling type garden with stone paths and steps and many rare trees. Step across the road and you gain access to the National Park where you will marvel at the grandeur of the towering Eucalyptus Regnans, one of the world's tallest flowering plants, plus a multitude of other flora. Wildlife abounds in the surrounding area and as you ramble you may come across wombats, wallabies, echidna and the elusive lyrebird.
A 150 metre stroll down to Kallista Village will bring you to The Kallista Deli and Café, perfect for a delicious lunch, along with quaint and eclectic shops to browse. Don't forget the Kallista Tea Rooms, where you can indulge in a decedent Devonshire Tea. There is a little general store where you can find great coffee, groceries, newspapers and a post office agency.
