Kallista Celebrates its Centenary! Nestled in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, Kallista was formerly called South Sassafras. 100 years ago a ceremony was held and Kallista was renamed and means “most beautiful”.

On Saturday 29th March, from 2pm til late, the community invites you to our Gala Event featuring: family fun, Welcome to Country with Uncle Murrundindi followed by a yarning circle, live music - DRMC Hot Jazz Orchestra, Choirs, Youth Bands and a Bush Dance. Featuring vintage vinyl by the Gramophone DJ, dazzling Dr Jazz & the Gangsters Paradise, and the dynamite duo, Lily & King, writers expo, Community Pavillions with old time games, Vintage Cars, Historic Reenactment Ceremony, Food trucks, Kallista lit-up at night and projections.

Welcome to get into the mood and dress up in 1920's attire and even enter the Fashion Parade.

Walk from Belgrave through the forest, catch a public bus, carpool or park and ride a free shuttle bus from The Patch Primary School.
