Undoubtedly the 1 in 20 has to be one of Melbourne's most popular climbs for road cyclists. The climb makes its way from the foothills township of The Basin to the hilltop village of Sassafras.

Regulars know the start as the 60km/h sign at the end of the shops in The Basin on Mountain Highway. You'll know when you are there thanks to the yellow marked "start" at the edge of the road.

From here there are regular makers each kilometre until the finish just before the pictureque village of Sassafras. The ride passes through fern gullies and grassy forest of the western face of Mt Dandenong.
