For one weekend only, the cellar doors of the Nillumbik Hills will open to wine lovers seeking a different side of the Yarra Valley. This Wednesday Walks it's all about ngurrak barring. Have you explored any sections of it yet? Spanning 39km, and connecting townships throughout the Dandenong Ranges, there are plenty of different walks to choose from. A wonderful 45min-1hr option is the Sherbrooke Forest loop. 🌿 ➡️ First, stop into Kallista Village for snacks and supplies, ➡️ Then, head to Grants Picnic Ground – you can pick up a printed itinerary at the by coffee van. ☕️ Here you’ll see Storm Leaves, one of five unique sculptures by Anton McMurray to be found along ngurrak barring. Behind the sculpture you’ll see Bleakly Track – an easy, well maintained track with ngurrak barring signage along the way Turn left on to Tregallas Track – a steady incline takes you into beautiful forest of Mountain Ash and tree ferns Left again onto Coles Ridge Track – wide and flat, an easy walk back to Grants Picnic Ground. Listen out for lyrebirds! Stop in at the ‘Country’ theme node, designed by First People’s design studios Djinjama and COLA.
