Like many wine lovers, husband and wife duo Adam and Jacky long dreamed of nurturing a vineyard. In 2025 they became the custodians of Wedgetail Estate, a hilltop property just 5 minutes drive from the historic village of Hurstbridge.
A trained viticulturist, Adam believes that great wine begins in the vineyard. Founded in 1994 on the western edge of the Yarra Valley, Wedgetail Estate’s elevated, cool-climate vineyards are ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Every bottle is crafted from estate-grown fruit, hand-tended to ensure only the finest bunches make the cut. In the rammed-earth winery, winemaking is deliberately low-intervention, letting each vintage express its place and season.
But Wedgetail Estate is more than vines and barrels. Jacky has breathed new life into the cellar door, shaping a place where visitors can drop in for a tasting, linger over a glass and a grazing platter, and unwind amidst the natural beauty of Nillumbik wine country.
