Giammarino Wine's story begins in the 1930s in the small village of Semi Vicoli in Abruzzo, Italy, where the family first established its original vineyard. Following the aftermath of World War II, the family migrated to Australia, entering a period focused on building new lives in a new country, during which their passion for farming was temporarily set aside.
In time, that passion was revived, leading to the establishment of vineyards in the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula. These locations were carefully chosen for their diverse climatic conditions, allowing greater control over the growing environment. The maritime climate and cooling ocean breezes of the Mornington Peninsula, combined with the mountainous terrain of the Yarra Valley, provide ideal conditions to ensure the vines develop without excessive stress.
Visitors are warmly invited to experience the vineyards firsthand and discover the story, landscape, and wines that define the estate.
