The Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre in the township of Warburton provides tourist information, hosts an art gallery and has a must-see retail outlet called Warburton Valley Handmade that showcases locally handmade goods from artists and craft-workers in the region.
Open seven days, visitors can drop in and speak to a volunteer about where to stay and what to do in the Warburton Valley. There are plenty of brochures and maps for the region's stunning array of forests walks and attractions. The Centre also provides up-to-date information about local events such as music and film festivals, markets, bike and running events such as Giro Della Donna and the Warburton Trail Fest, and other recreational activities.
Find out all you need to know to ride the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail or enjoy snow play on Mt Donna Buang during winter. The Waterwheel also stocks local wines and food products for purchase and is the site of the community mosaic project, The Great Steps of Warburton.
Situated on the main street, The Warburton Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre is just a few steps from the pristine Yarra River. Warburton is where it all begins.
