On the back of our Signature Series and People Behind The Plate campaign promoting the food experiences of our region a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to businesses awarded hats in the 2022, The Age Good Food Guide Awards.

It is great to see this level of excellence being recognised within our region in these prestigious awards. Scores are calculated out of 20. Food is the most important thing in a restaurant, so that is scored out of 10 points. Service is the next most important part of dining out, so this is awarded points out of five. This leaves three points for ambience and buzz, which takes into account lighting, noise levels, crockery, cutlery, and glassware. The remaining two are the 'wow factor' points: a killer view, an exciting location, and a teeming veggie garden.
A One Hat is awarded to places that score 15/20. Reviewers visit unannounced. They book under an assumed name and pay for their own meals.
