East Warburton

Drive through Warburton, past the now famous Sanitarium building and you'll find yourself in East Warburton. It is part of the Shire of Yarra Ranges and close to suburbs including Warburton, Milgrove and Launching Place.

There are many easy access points to the river here and you can dip your toes in the mountain fresh water or launch yourself out on an inflatable lilo for a little paddle. In this neck of the woods, you will find yourself getting closer to the Little and Big Peninsula Tunnels, the Redwood Forest and ever closer to the Upper Yarra Dam.

The Redwood Forest is a must to visit as it is claimed to be the largest stand of its type in Victoria. Entering the forest has something of an almost 'Harry Potter' quality to it and the kids can play make believe for hours. Take a picnic and enjoy the cool shade, fresh water and mossy edges this forest offers.
