Gruyere is a premium wine-growing area just behind Coldstream on the Maroondah Highway and Wandin on the Warburton Highway. It is part of the Shire of Yarra Ranges and is close to suburbs including Coldstream, Lilydale and Seville.

Gruyere has strong farming and agricultural roots with a variety of products such as apples, pears, citrus and cattle. It's the type of place where it’s easy to find yourself patting a neighbouring farm animal before setting off on a walk along Stringybark Creek.

It's also home to some of the most iconic wines of the Yarra Valley, some of which can be found on the Maddens Lane Winery Trail.

Visiting this region is a must for wine lovers and you can easily spend a day (or two) cellar door sipping.
