Tourism East | Board Director Opportunity
Tourism East is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join its Board as a skills-based Director.
Do you understand the opportunities and challenges facing tourism and the broader visitor economy? Can you bring strategic insight, commercial experience and sound governance to help shape the future of one of Victoria’s leading tourism regions?
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of Tourism East as we work to grow a thriving, sustainable visitor economy across the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Nillumbik and Cardinia.
Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position.
About Tourism East
Tourism East is the official Visitor Economy Partnership (VEP), bringing together industry, state and local government, and community stakeholders to strengthen the region’s visitor economy.
Our work spans destination marketing, industry development, strategic partnerships, advocacy and destination management, supporting tourism businesses and creating lasting economic and community benefits.
What we're looking for
We are seeking one skills-based Director who can bring:
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen and sound judgement.
- An understanding of corporate governance and Director responsibilities.
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, business or a related sector.
- The ability to build effective relationships with industry, government and stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach to Board decision-making.
- A genuine commitment to the growth and sustainability of the region’s visitor economy.
We particularly welcome candidates with expertise in commercial business, finance, investment, digital innovation or tourism operations.
